Harrison is home to some of the brighter minds in Academia. CHARACTER BACKGROUND: Harrison has it's share of troublemakers. It is the policy at Harrison to give such students a second chance. They must earn their way back into the good graces of the university administration through hard work and improved performance. Our player characters are some of these problem students. For one reason or another, they have all run afoul of university rules. Their choices were simple: join Harrison's "work redemption" program or face expulsion. For obvious reasons, the students chose the former. PLOT SYNOPSIS: On September 26, 1983, the world came closer to nuclear war than it had ever been when a Russian officer named Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov was faced with the choice of following protocol or setting off Armageddon. In the world we know, this brave man chose to ruin of his career rather than initiate the destruction of the world. He reasoned that the U.S. would not launch an attack in so suicidal and idiotic a fashion, and declared the information on his computer to be the results of a glitch. He was right, though he had no immediate proof of this. But what if another man had been in command? What if sinister forces had been at work, undermining the kind hand of fate, assuring that the nightmare that everyone feared would come to pass? In our story, a group of unsuspecting college students step through into just such a terrifying world. They must struggle, not just to survive, but to uncover the awful truth behind the mysterious gateway to this alternate world.
